SOMATIC ATTACHMENT THERAPY
Dynamic Attachment Repatterning Experience (DARe)
What is DARe?
DARe is a gentle, body-based therapy that helps people heal from past relationship wounds and build healthier, more secure connections with others.
Many of our struggles in relationships—like feeling distant, clingy, mistrustful, or overwhelmed—can be traced back to how we learned to relate to others in early life. Sometimes, our early environment didn’t give us what we needed to feel safe, seen, or supported, so we adapted in smart but sometimes painful ways. These adaptations are known as insecure attachment styles (like avoidant, anxious, or disorganized attachment).
DARe helps us gently explore and heal these patterns by working with both the nervous system and relational experiences. The idea is that we’re all naturally wired to connect and attach securely, but sometimes life gets in the way. DARe gives us a chance to repair those early disruptions and reconnect with that secure wiring.
Our attachment patterns aren’t fixed—they can shift and grow. With support, we can bring forward the strengths from our early adaptations while also building the safety, flexibility, and connection that come with secure attachment. DARe is all about guiding you back to that natural state of secure, healthy relating—at your own pace, with compassion and care.
What happens in a DARe session?
In a DARe session, your therapist creates a warm, safe space where healing can happen. Together, you:
Start by connecting to a felt sense of safety (this might feel like warmth, protection, kindness, or being grounded in your body).
Gently explore insecure relationship patterns or relational wounds at your own pace.
Engage in guided exercises that offer “corrective experiences”—new, healing interactions that can help rewire how you relate to others and yourself.
Learn practical tools and skills to improve your relationships, communication, and emotional regulation.
DARe works both from the bottom-up (through the body and nervous system) and top-down (through understanding and learning new skills). It’s a holistic way to heal attachment wounds and create more ease, closeness, and confidence in your relationships.
