FAQs
What happens during the free intro call?
We will meet for 20 minutes, talk briefly about what you are looking for, and discuss any initial questions about working together.
What can I expect from the first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another. We will talk about what brings you to counselling, what you hope to understand better or change, relevant parts of your history and current life, and any questions or concerns you have about starting counselling.
You do not need to know what to say. I’ll offer questions to help us get started, and you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
What if I don’t know what I want to work on?
Not a problem. Sometimes you know something is wrong before you can put words to what you want instead. We can clarify your concerns and goals together.
What if something doesn’t feel helpful?
We will check in regularly about how counselling is going so we can adapt and stay on track with what feels helpful to you. I welcome your feedback, including when something isn’t helping or you would like to try something different.
